The K&F Softbox is really very easy to unfold within a few seconds.
The cloths and the grid are also quickly attached and also make a high-quality impression.
At least I checked thoroughly and had nothing to complain about.
The injection-molded Bowen holder is also cleanly crafted and fits really well on the opposite side. The umbrella itself can still be twisted after loosening the knurled screw on the back.
The carrying bag with lanyard is sufficient for this umbrella and is well made.
All in all, I can say (as with everything I've purchased from K&F) that this softbox deserves its 5 stars. Peis performance is right again here.

I had a great time from the first use, you can tell immediately that it is an excellent product in terms of quality, I really liked the quick release, which makes assembly and disassembly very fast. Just extend the rods until you hear the 'click' and to disassemble it it has a clamp release.

The spread of light is uniform and soft, the included Honeycomb grill is really nice even if I don't use it very much.
But it's nice to have it for an extra chance.

The mount is the classic Bowens so it's compatible with many lights.
The diameter of 55 cm I use a lot for shooting indoors, indoors, is a size that I find quite manageable.

The design is portable and is very very comfortable, because it is small enough to be easily carried in the included bag

I have a very compact photo studio, and this 55cm octagonal softbox from brand K&F CONCEPT is the perfect sized lighting softbox to help me create soft portrait lighting in a limited space environment. There is also a 65cm and 90cm version as of this review, so plenty of options depending on your creative requirements.

The brand K&F CONCEPT continues to surprise me time and time again, with everything from ND filters to video rig and other photo gear being of a super high quality, and this softbox is no exception. As noted, it is an octagonal design, and in my opinion this creates a more balanced soft light than the average rectangular concept.

It also comes with a velcro-on honeycomb, which allows me to speckle the light for certain kinds of projects, which is a nice bonus, not all hexagonal or octagonal softboxes necessarily come with one, but I do consider it an absolute necessity.

Beyond this, there is an easy quick release for the bowens-style mount that is part of this particular product package, allowing you to use a speedlight flash instead. It is a very robust design with an aluminum construction for the frame, and the fabric of the softbox is evidently a very high quality nylon, so it feels very durable and I do not expect tearing like I would with a lower quality product. It also comes with a carrying case that appears to be using a similar nylon fabric design, so traveling with this unit is a breeze.

Overall, there is a lot to like here, and room for expansion with larger sizes offered, and an adaptable mount at the back. A complete package and a 5 star product for me.

In the package, the soft box was folded, in a storage bag, and contained a small diffuser, a large diffuser, a grid, and an instruction manual.

When I took the soft box out of the storage bag, it was folded and secured with velcro so that the umbrella would not open.
It's easy to set up by simply pulling it outward, like opening an umbrella bone.

The outside of the soft box was black, and the manufacturer's logo was printed in one place.
The inside was composed of a silver color similar to a silver reflex.
Velcro is attached to the middle of all inner umbrella bones, making it easy to attach the included small diffuser.
The black part on the outer edge of the soft box is also velcro, and it is possible to fix a large diffuser or a grid that enhances the directivity of light.

I tried attaching it to a relatively small LED light among the LED lights I own.
By attaching the Bowens mount adapter that comes with the small LED light to the softbox, it is possible to easily attach the softbox to the LED light.

I attached a softbox to the LED light and took a picture with headphones.
The one shot with 2 types of diffusers attached, large and small, had the most light and faintest shadows, followed by a small diffuser, no diffuser, and the strongest shadows were taken with only a hood with an LED light attached as standard.

This time I used only 1 light for photography, but the size is easy to use even in relatively small rooms.

For as few times as I really need to add in artificial lighting, the 80cm square softbox has been doing the job with a 60W COB LED continuous light (sometimes I use it for photography too with the speedlite adapter. More recently though my situations are shooting video in confined spaces, covering people going about their business and creative pursuits; me not being in the way and able to work to their pace is priority #1.

This octagon with two diffuser layers was love at first sight out of the box. I used it within days of arrival for a one on one session of a merchant in their tiny shop and got what we wanted with the least amount of fanfare. I could have pictured my 80cm box hitting a few things in the process and taking over the guest's attention.

The built in pull and click system to set the ribs is genius. They don't take much strength to lift up and out until they click into place. Lately I am very aware of this with some loss of grip strength and soreness in my right arm.

The shape when collapsed and twisted into a tight bunch, then into the fabric bag with draw string also suits my carry all bag way to haul gear; better than a semi rigid four sided collapsible soft box that doesn't fit in anything I have.

The two inner diffuser panels mount with hook and loop. The outer diffuser has a continuous band of that tape, as does the inner rim of the umbrella. The smaller inside diffuser attaches with short bands of hook and loop. Of the two diffusers, when used singly, the outer one reduces light output more than the inner one. I didn't test to compare the light dispersion or fall off pattern compared to a metal reflector bowl or my bigger popup softbox.

As the demo video shows, the Bowens mount ring can be removed after taking out one thumbscrew. I can't immediately think of when I would need to do that but it's there as an option.

This is a great umbrella and a very good value for the money. It is very easy to set up and use, is obviously extremely portable and the fact that it comes with a carry bag is a huge plus.

A 26" is great for headshots or portraits thats travel sized. Fits inside of your luggage easily. Shoulder strap for pouch is handy. Youll need a speedlight adapter to use with a Light stand.

This 55 cm octagonal softbox arrived in a good quality cardboard box (which is good to store it in). It also comes with a handy black carry bag, with shoulder strap, for portability. I like the quick release and compact format, you can set this up in a matter of minutes and pack it up very quickly. I prefer octaboxes for the softer light they produce (the larger the size the softer the light). They can be used for every type of photography but my preference is portrait. They will get a lovely catchlight in your subject's eyes. It also comes with a detachable grid which is useful to control light, play with shadows, and create more interesting images. The Octabox has the attachment for Bowens lights (which I have) but with an adapter plate you can use them with any lighting system.
It's a great piece of kit to have. It's an entry level price for a good quality product that will take your photography to another level. Recommended.

The K&F Concept 55cm Parabol Softbox is a fantastic accessory for my video and photography equipment. With its Quick Release Umbrella design, it is quick and easy to set up. The octagonal shape ensures even light distribution, while the honeycomb grille and soft diffuser provide excellent lighting control and quality.
